Strongcopy GitHub

Know it copied.

A small macOS utility that flashes a Copied badge beside your pointer the moment the clipboard changes.

  • macOS 13 or later
  • Apple silicon and Intel
  • Signed and notarized by Apple
  • MIT licensed
The badge appears beside the pointer for eight tenths of a second, then disappears. The menu bar icon confirms Strongcopy is running.

Why Strongcopy

Nothing to learn

Strongcopy watches the pasteboard rather than intercepting Command-C, so copies made by menus, scripts, password managers, and other apps all produce the same confirmation. There is no shortcut to remember and nothing to configure.

Nothing to hand over

Clipboard contents are never read, logged, or retained. Strongcopy asks for neither Accessibility nor notification permission, and it makes no network connections. The whole app is a few hundred lines you can read yourself.

Nothing in the way

It runs as a background accessory app with no Dock icon and no window. A clipboard icon in the menu bar is the only permanent trace, carrying About, Open at Login, and Quit.

Install

  1. Download the disk image from the latest release. Builds are universal, so one download covers Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
  2. Open the DMG and drag Strongcopy to Applications.
  3. Open Strongcopy. Releases are signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper lets it through without a security override.

Strongcopy starts working immediately. To have it launch with your Mac, click the menu bar icon and choose Open at Login.
